The Crosby 24 is a cruiser of infinite possibility, suited for customizing to individual requirements. Designed by Matthew Smith, NA and introduced by E.M. Crosby Boatworks, the 24’ design easily navigates sheltered waters, safely and comfortably zips over to charming islands and beaches, accommodates the entire family for fishing or waterskiing, and fits up nicely for cocktail cruises with guests.
Cold-molded in wood and epoxy, the Crosby 24 is the essence of versatility. Every inch is built by hand, making it effortless to customize amenities and finishes – whether that’s hand-laid teak soles and fine furnishings or bait wells and tackle racks. The boat is small enough to slip into quiet coves, anchor and go for a swim; and big enough to handle trips to the outer islands. The cold-molded construction results in the solid feel and sound of a wooden hull, while benefitting from the maintenance characteristics of a fiberglass boat at a competitive price point.
It’s all about style, too. A sweeping bow keeps the boat dry in a chop; an attractive tumblehome dresses it up. For owners of EM.C. Crosby’s gaff-rigged Wianno Senior sloops, the 24’ is the perfect tender.
CROSBY 24, HULL #1 – “MERRY WEATHER”
First Place winner in the Professionally Built category at the 29th Annual WoodenBoat Show 2021 Concours d’Elegance prize, “Merryweather” cuts a pretty line with her “Wasabi Green” Awlgrip finish. Outfitted with a Suzuki 300 single prop, “Merryweather” is tailor-made for the owner’s desire for civilized cocktail cruises around the three bays of Osterville. She has a standard electronics package of a GPS, VHF radio and a high-performance stereo, Yeti coolers, a bow-thruster, throw anchor, fresh-water washdown system, Laveo dry-flush head, teak covering boards, rail, console, and fiddles.
CROSBY 24, HULL #2 – “FIREFLY”
The judges voted a split decision for first place winner in the Professionally Built category at the 30th Annual WoodenBoat Show 2022 Concours d’Elegance prize, “Firefly” is striking with her “Fighting Lady Yellow” Awlgrip finish. This boat has all the options one could want with custom Release fighting chairs and helm seats, twin Garmin screens, radar, GPS, high-performance stereo, a windlass and anchor system from Bowmaster, fresh-water washdown system as well as raw water washdown system, bow thruster, Yeti coolers, Laveo dry-flush head, a Suzuki twin prop 300 outboard, teak covering boards, deck, toe rail, coaming, console, and fiddles.
CROSBY 24, HULL #3
An awesome day fisher, the Crosby 24, hull number 3, is very simply laid out with less maintenance as the console covering boards, fiddles and wooden surfaces are coated in epoxy and painted with Awlgrip’s “Snow White”. Her mahogany toe rails and helm pod are finished bright to help accentuate her fine lines. A Birdsall leaning post is part of the outboard’s components and she’s outfitted with a Suzuki twin-prop 300hp engine.
